Excessively large breasts often result in both functional and psychological problems for the patient. Functional issues could involve the following: neck and upper back pain, pain in the shoulders due to grooving by the bra straps, and skin problems such as infections or eczema due to constant friction and rubbing in the folds. Patients may also experience problems finding bras or clothes, and social embarrassment.
Breast reduction surgery aims to achieve symmetrical, smaller and more aesthetically appealing breasts, with correction of any ptosis if required. This is performed at Allure using a vertical short-scar, superior-medial pedicle technique popularized by Dr. Elizabeth Hall-Findlay. The removal of excessive breast tissue and reshaping of remaining breast tissue, excision of excessive drooping skin, changing the nipple-areolar complex position, and liposuction is performed to achieve symmetrical attractive and smaller breasts with minimal scarring.
“Depending on the volume of breast reduction, breast reduction may be considered a medical procedure that is Medisave and insurance claimable.”
A breast reduction is carried out on an outpatient basis, meaning that there is no need for an overnight stay. Patients are given sedation and will be asleep through the procedure.
Patients experience minor swelling and bruising which will diminish in a few days. You can resume normal activities in a few days. There are usually no visible scars.
The breast reduction procedure is a signature procedure performed by Dr Samuel Ho. Trained in Korea, Dr Ho has extensive experience in performing natural looking breast reduction work.
To start, Dr Samuel Ho will conduct a detailed consultation to evaluate your physical anatomy and discuss with you the changes you desire.
Patients are welcome and encouraged to address any of their concerns or questions so that they can make a confident decision about undergoing breast reduction surgery.
