Mastopexy is a surgical procedure to correct drooping breasts and may be done in conjunction with an augmentation with an implant if required. The nipple-areolar complex is returned to the original, higher, more aesthetic location and the breast mound is reshaped and placed in a more lifted position. This procedure is usually undertaken by women who do not intend to breastfeed in the future.
Drooping breasts is categorized according to severity and results in a low-set nipple and deflated, unattractive breasts. The causes may be ageing, the after-effects of pregnancy or breast-feeding. In a subset known as pseudo-ptosis, the breasts appear droopy but the nipple position is relatively well-preserved.
A mastopexy is carried out on an outpatient basis, meaning that there is no need for an overnight stay. Patients are given sedation and will be asleep through the breast augmentation surgery procedure.
Patients experience minor swelling and bruising which will diminish in a few days. You can resume normal activities in a few days. There are usually no visible scars.
The breast lift procedure is a signature procedure performed by Dr Samuel Ho. Trained in Korea, Dr Ho has extensive experience in performing delicate breast lift work.
To start, Dr Samuel Ho will conduct a detailed consultation to evaluate your physical anatomy and discuss with you the changes you desire.
Patients are welcome and encouraged to address any of their concerns or questions so that they can make a confident decision about undergoing breast lift surgery.
